Menopause : Watch Out For Problem Areas
"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger."
This adage is true when it comes to love, life and other important aspects of existence. However, this doesn't seem to be the case at all when it comes to the battle against menopause. In fact, it seems to be the other way around.
Very few women die because of the emotional and physical strains menopause can cause. Just the same, very few, if not none, overcome the menopausal challenges with strengthened bodies and physiques. The truth is that most women feel older and weaker after the menstruation finally stops. Add to that the depression and voila! Menopause is actually a female's one way ticket to self deterioration.
However, just like in any case, it's a great advantage to have a lot of knowledge. In general, it is very helpful for women to know the various problem areas which need to be watched out when it comes to menopause. Knowing these problems in advance can actually spare anyone from getting the big blows of menopausal symptoms. By acquiring knowledge of the problem areas way ahead of time… anyone can start looking for solutions which may come handy when the actual menopausal trials get in the picture.
The first problem area is the urogenital tract. With a decline of 50 to 600 picograms of estrogen per blood millimeter, urogenital tract disorders get imminent. This tract consists of the bladder, uterus and the vagina. All of these areas have crucial roles in both secreting waste and reproduction. With the decline of the estrogen and progesterone levels, a woman loses crucial tissues through the process of atrophy. This tissue loss in the tract then causes burning sensations whenever a menopausal woman urinates. Incontinence or the sudden loss of urine also takes place. There may also be an experience of pain during sexual activities for women who experience hardships in this problem area.
Blood vessels are also problem areas to look out for during the menopausal years. Due to the rise and fall of the female hormone, the blood vessels become more and more unstable. This instability is caused by the amount of blood that they carry to one's skin. This vasomotor instability causes hot flashes, night sweats and frequent sleep disturbances.
Another very important area of the body which gets damaged during the menopausal process is the brain. As everyone may know, the brain is a very important part of the body for it actually is the center of anyone's humanity. During this time, mood swings become imminent. Some symptoms of brain problems due to menopause are irritability, moodiness, weepiness and inadequacy. A woman also gets to lose her grip on controlling emotions when the menopausal process starts affecting her brain.
One more equally concerning problem area during menopause are the bones. Natural processes in the human body suggest that bone loss occur as people age. However, menopause actually catalyzes the whole process through the rapid loss of calcium in the body. This may lead to osteopenia when left to be ignored. Further shunning of the bone's weakening condition will then lead to osteoporosis. During menopause, women should refrain from getting injured, especially if it involves these problem areas. Hip fractures and bone breakage do not quickly heal at this point in time.
Blood pressures also rise during the menopausal years. As such, more and more women will find themselves at risk of being stricken by a heart attack. This problem area is a leading killer, especially for women in their menopausal years. In fact, it has claimed lives of women all over the world, exceeding statistics of women dying from breast cancer by as much as eight times. As the body loses estrogen, the heart, as a problem area, begins to fail in pumping healthy blood in the body. As such, the circulatory system is put at a very high risk.
Everyone must remember to take care of their bodies, especially when it comes to these problem areas. With the use of knowledge on which problem areas to watch out for become clearer. Thus, staying fit as a fiddle all throughout the menopausal process can be as easy as one two and three. By doing the right stuff and exercising the best solutions, any woman will have the chance to surpass menopausal challenges with flying colors.
