How To Deal With Perimenopause
Perimenopause is known as that stage in a woman's life where she is on the verge of bidding adieu to her reproductive years. While women in this stage still have a chance of getting pregnant, the manner to which they would ovulate will be entirely harder compared to that of their younger years. Perimenopause would usually start in women between the ages of 35 to 45 although there are females who may encounter it earlier. The start of perimenopause can be easily detected when the usual changes in mood, menstrual cycle and sleeping disorders start to set in. It is a stage that is really hard for women to cope up if they do not take the necessary precautions in dealing with such a stage in their lives.
Symptoms and Factors Affecting Perimenopause
The reproductive cells, estrogen and progesterone, can be seen to reproduce unevenly at this stage. The usual menstrual cycle changes and occurrences as the inability to ovulate are expected during these times. This can be attributed to the fact that this stage is on the road towards menopause stage in women where their reproductive years are about to be used up.
There are also some other risky factors to be considered. Vaginal dryness can be expected and this is something that should be given attention since proper treatment to avoid complications. Surgical treatment is usually recommended by some physicians but this occurs after the normal manner of treatment has not been effective for women who will have different concerns during this stage.
The reason for dryness can be attributed to the fact that the drop in estrogen levels affects the lubrication of the vaginal tissues making sexual intercourse entirely painful. Also, such drying would make women prone towards contracting urinary diseases and vaginal infection as well.
Mood changes in the perimenopausal stage can be attributed to the fact that they easily get irritated and suffer some depression attacks. But it has been found that a lot of the mood swings that women would usually encounter are due to the fact that they have trouble sleeping or lack it entirely. Through the perimenopausal stage, females are sure to have a hard time sleeping, considering that they encounter night sweats, and making it entirely uncomfortable for them to get the required relaxation of sleeping.
Pregnancy during Perimenopause
Pregnancy can still occur in the perimenopausal stage. Until a female would encounter 12 consecutive months without periods, she is still open for giving birth. It is best for women to consult their physicians regarding these possibilities and birth control options.
Alternative Remedies for Perimenopause
Perimenopause can still be up for treatment. Women would resort to birth control pills or contraceptives to help ease the pain that they are experiencing in this stage. However, it would be best to get the necessary prescription from doctors beforehand. While birth control pills can help in regulating the menstrual cycle, there are also restrictions especially for women who are over 35 and have the habit of smoking. High blood cases are also another constraint to which clearance to resort to contraceptives for treatment may end up complicating everything rather than aiding people.
The Natural Ways of Dealing with Perimenopause
Going through stages of periodic illnesses such as Perimenopause does not entirely rely towards medical rehabilitation. There is still the duty of a woman to do her part such as regular exercise and monitored food intake. Just like in the same way the people need to keep fit the same usual practice that normal people, both men and women, need to uphold to ensure their overall fitness and health.
Perimenopause can be stressful and painful if a woman is not adept on the things she has to do to cope up with. That is why being picky when it comes to food intake and taking diets has been something that women must watch out for. Vegetables, yogurt, fruits and other whole grain foods offer the necessary nutrients and health benefits to aid females in such a predicament.
The need to find a regular form of exercise such as jogging, gym and other acceptable forms will surely help to make the body active and stronger. Such would be a good recourse as well since bones and other body parts are susceptible as well to such issues to which Perimenopause can cause.
